at Mae Sot and the Moei River

       Many visitors to Chiang Mai are tempted to visit Mae Sot , including other towns around Tak Province , but feel challenged by the distance as the car ride from Chiang Mai to Mae Sot can take up to 5 hours with sharp slopes and turns. 

       But today Mae Sot is within reach , with Nok Air's new Chiang Mai to Mae Sot (14.50 - 15-40) and Mae Sot to Chiang Mai (16.50 - 17.35) flights that take only one hour.

       Not to be missed is the Mae Moei National Pack , the most beautiful viewpoint for the sea fog , which should be watched early morning at the break of dawn.

       You can also visit the rose orchard that is the country's lagest supplier of roses at Amphoe Pob Phra either at the Pathompetch Orchard or Kanjanasak Orchard. There is also the Kaew Komol Cave which sparkles with white chlorite crystals, the most beautiful of the country .

       The final stop is at the market at the banks of the Moei River that sells indigenous items from both Thailand and Burma , including a market for gems.
